Leading UK Building Services company to be first tenant

One of the UK's leading building service engineers is relocating its regional operational office to Wynyard Park and will be the first tenant of a brand new scheme being unveiled at the site.

Lorne Stewart plc, which has been operating nationally for over 100 years, is moving to the newly-completed Wynyard Park Business Village development at the prestigious 700-acre site that is strategically located at a key junction of the A19 between Hartlepool and Stockton.

The company, which currently operates its north-east regional operations out of premises at the Sandgate Estate in Hartlepool, has taken a lease on a 5,000 sq ft 2-storey unit.

Tom McLaughlin, Lorne Stewart’s Regional Manager, said that the move was prompted by the need for a more accessible location.

“We have operated successfully in the north east region for many years from our office in Sandgate Estate, however we are now finding the existing facilities and logistics are restrictive,” he said.

Adding, “Moving to a brand new office with excellent conference facilities and transport links provides us with the ideal base for our regional management team to oversee our business activity in Tees Valley, North Yorkshire, Tyne & Wear and Northumberland.”

Chris Musgrave, chief executive of Wynyard Park Ltd, the company that owns the business park and the new Wynyard Park Business Village scheme said that it was great news to be welcoming another blue chip company as a tenant.

He commented, “Wynyard Park Business Village is yet another high quality development on the site that offers top level office accommodation in a great location and it is attracting interest from leading businesses.

“Lorne Stewart is a well-respected company and a good local employer so we are extremely pleased to be welcoming them to Wynyard Park.  They are the first of a number of new tenants who have signed up for the scheme, two of which we also expect to be completing on shortly.”

None of Lorne Stewart’s existing management or office staff will be affected by the relocation and Tom McLaughlin is keen to stress that the company is not losing touch with its Hartlepool roots.

“Far from it,” he added.  “In fact we intend to strengthen our long-standing relationship with the town of Hartlepool and surrounding areas in the coming months.

“We already have ambitious expansion plans in place and the new office will not only give us further room to grow but also a higher profile in the region. In fact, our aim is to become bigger, bolder and better in the years to come.”

Wynyard Park Business Village is a development of 13 purpose-built, fully-fitted office units ranging from 1,500 sq ft to 20,000 sq ft. The scheme is located in a prime position on the site adjacent to the flagship Wynyard Park House building which offers a range of impressive facilities including conferencing and the popular Java café and bistro.

Both are integral to the success of Wynyard Park’s plans for a mixed use site to also include a sustainable community comprising 2,000 homes plus leisure facilities ranging from a pub to woodland walks and cycle paths in the 300-acres of woodland.
