A successful Tees Valley developer has expanded his empire up the A19 – much to the delight of North Tyneside Council.

North Tyneside welcomes successful Tees Valley developer

Strategic Sites – the subsidiary property development company of Wynyard Park Ltd which bought the former Samsung premises near Middlesbrough – is currently marketing a cluster of business premises on the Orion Business Park in North Shields.

A third of the office and warehouse units in the 38,500 sq ft development – known as Jupiter Court – have already been sold and, now, the local authority has pledged its support to help attract owners or tenants for the remaining eight.

North Tyneside Council is looking forward to working closely with Strategic Sites.

Councillor Jim Allan, North Tyneside’s Deputy Mayor said “The whole A19 corridor is now recognised as a premier location for business investment and employment and the success of the Wynyard Park development is a prime example of this,” he said.

“A range of support packages is available to businesses locating at Jupiter Court and we are looking forward to working not only with Strategic Sites but, as interest continues to build, with those businesses that are attracted by the quality of their accommodation.”

Jupiter Court, which is located within easy access of the Tyne Tunnel and Newcastle, is being marketed on a sale or let basis. It comprises detached or semi detached, two-storey buildings ranging from 2,500 sq ft to 5,000 sq ft and offers light assembly or storage space at ground floor and offices on the first floor.  If required the ground floor space can be converted into offices to create a 100% office building in only a few weeks.

Chris Musgrave, chief executive of Wynyard Park Ltd is confident that the development will boost employment opportunities in North Tyneside.

“We have a good track record, having delivered on our pledge at Wynyard Park to replace the jobs lost after Samsung pulled out, with over 600 people now working on the site,” he explained.

“When it is fully let, the Jupiter Court scheme has the potential to support over 100 new jobs, which we would be delighted to be able to deliver to the area especially in light of recent news about Amtel.”

The Jupiter Court development is beside the A19 just to the north of the Tyne Tunnel, only a few miles to the east of Newcastle city centre.

Strategic Sites Chief Executive, Paul Barber, has been encouraged by the progress of the scheme.

“Like the Wynyard Park site in the Tees Valley, Orion Business Park is in a great strategic location next to the A19. The fact that Newcastle is easily accessible from it has proved to be very attractive to our investors,” he said. “News that building work on the second Tyne Tunnel is due to start next spring should further enhance the area’s popularity with businesses.”

The agents appointed to handle enquiries from prospective purchasers and occupiers are Storeys SSP and King Sturge, both based in Newcastle. Prices start from £9 per sq ft on a rental basis and £100 per sq ft for purchase depending on the desired specification. Further details can also be obtained from Strategic Sites on 01937 584444.
