Sportsman’s Dinner nets notorious former footballer
Former football hardman Neil ‘Razor’ Ruddock will lift the lid on his footballing and other exploits at a charity event at the Wynyard Rooms on February 19th 2010.
Known as a controversial central defender with Spurs, Liverpool and West Ham, he is also famous for his time in the jungle on ITV’s ‘I’m a Celebrity… Get me Out for Here!’. Neil Ruddock also appeared with his partner, ex-page three glamour girl Leah Newman, on Channel 4’s ‘Celebrity Wife Swap’.
The evening, which takes place from 7.30 pm at the exclusive function rooms at Wynyard Park, will also feature comedian Jimmy Bright. The youngest funny man ever to appear on Granada TV’s The Comedians when he was only 21, Jimmy is now described as amongst the very best entertainers to grace the top tables of many of the UK’s leading corporate and sporting events.
Master of Ceremonies for the occasion will be Jerry Earle who has been working the after dinner circuit for the past five years and organising events for ten and who has been described as one of the country’s best comperes.
Jeff Hind, general manager of The Wynyard Rooms, said that he is expecting the dinner to be a sell out.
“It’s a fantastic line-up and will be an evening to remember I have no doubt!” he added.
“We have some fantastic auction items up for grabs so we’re hoping to top the amount we’ve raised at previous events.”
Tickets cost £45 each and all profits from the evening will be shared between Gretton Court Nursing Home in Hartlepool that cares for people with Alzheimer’s, and Stockton’s Butterwick Hospice.
